I'd been feeling really unwell with cold-like symptoms and overwhelming fatigue since the summer of 2015. Then in early march 2016, I collapsed at home and Billy called an ambulance.
Travels of an addled brain to somewhere near normality whatever that might be when it's at home.

Carers' Assessment blues
I had a social worker visit for my carers' assessment recently but it really didn't go well.

Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
Wow!! That wasn't the ending I was expecting! I loved this story. While reading this book I discovered there is such a thing as 'purple prose and this is what I loved best about this book.
So if anyone is reading these thoughts, if you love lots of lengthy and detailed descriptions of unfamiliar times and places, chances are you will love this book.

It's All Happening Again
For the last few months, I have had what appears to be a series of very short-stay colds that last a few hours at a time.
In August 2015 we stayed in a retirement home for 2 weeks while a wetroom was being installed in our flat. During our stay, I became very unwell then the on-off symptoms of a cold didn't let up for months after we returned home.
I'm now becoming increasingly concerned that history is repeating itself.
This is a link to my posts about the development of visual and auditory disturbances that I experience in February 2016

Latest on Social Care Support lol
It's all fun and games today.
Our local housing department has installed wheelchair access to our flat, but the only place they can put the ramp blocks off access to our gas meter cupboard which is on an outside wall.
Also, I have to walk a much longer distance to put my rubbish out as the ramp's barriers block off access to the area by my door where I keep the bins.
I have mobility issues myself so I'm going to be stuck if it has been raining as the ramp will be too slippery for me to walk down.
How the heck am I going to get the grocery deliveries indoors?

My Diabetes Journey....The Beginning
I know I'm repeating myself but though this would be easier to find with 'Diabetes' in the title
Someone from my local GP practice phoned me about 2 years ago to tell me I had prediabetes, then 2 years later, with nothing else being said to me relating to Diabetes, my GP rang to tell me I had type 2 Diabetes. The same afternoon, the GP's visiting nurse visited me at home and said I should be on meds to lower my blood sugar. Given that for 2 years, nobody from the practice had any input into how I could manage this myself, I basically told him that I would sort things out for myself.
I then visited the site of the GP practice and although they have included a who bunch of stuff from Diabetes UK they missed out any information on reversing type 2 the low carb programme, nor intermittent fasting.
Talk about cherry picking.

Another Epic Fail by My GP Again
He totally ignored me and refused to increase my thyroid meds.
Then yesterday morning he CONFIRMED the Diabetes, which I already knew about as I have a blood glucose meter at home and also have a son who has had Diabetes for 35 years
So....the GP basically, undermedicated my thyroid and has only increased the thyroid meds following the Diabetes diagnosis after my asking him to increase the thyroid meds for 7 years.
